Valley of the Moon is a remote section of BLM land on the border with Mexico (the border wall is clearly visible) within San Diego country. Its huge boulders and rock towers mimic Joshua Tree, and although VOM offers some great rock climbing, I explored this area with friends on mountain bikes.
