At 14080 feet, Polemonium Peak was the last of my CA 14ers, a project I’d been working on for several years. We climbed the U-notch, where 7 pitches of ice led to 3 short pitches of rock. We left camp at 6am, made the summit in the afternoon, and made our last rappel onto the glacier in the dark. A storm came in a day later and blanketed the Sierra with snow, essentially sealing the mountain off for the season…perfect.
