With intentions of climbing Mt. Rainier, 3 friends and I traveled to Seattle, WA on May 29th. Due to weather forecasts, I knew the summit was out of the question before I left San Diego. We stuck it out and attempted to climb up to camp at 10000 feet, but didn’t even make it that far as visibility was extremely low and the snow was deep. We took the oppurtuniy of a small weather window 2 days later to day-hike Mt. St. Helens, and spent our last day touring a large lava tube and downtown Seattle.
