I had Friday off, so I was anxious to get back out to Anza Borrego and grab a few of the 6 SDC listed peaks I had left. The Elder and Palms benchmarks would be on the agenda for the day, with an easy crossing of Collins Valley. About a 9 mile hike, with almost all of the 2500 feet of gain contained within just 2 miles. A great day out. Trip report
