With friend Philip Stinis, we hiked up to Little Round Valley from Idyllwild in just two hours Saturday evening, and left camp at 6am on Sunday for a mostly cross-country loop hike to tag 6 peaks around San Jacinto. Our loop included Drury, Jean, Marion, Miller, San Jacinto, and Folly peaks. The chimney on Marion’s summit block was the highlight of the day. We had hoped to loop in Cornell Peak, but we ended up leaving it off due to time constraints. A great weekend out, and a good way to escape the mid-August heat back near sea level…
