I spent 4 nights in Anza Borrego, visiting both the north and south ends of the park. My first day in, I did a solo 20 mile roundtrip hike around Rockhouse Canyon to check out the leftovers of an old Santa Rosa Indian Village. A few rock walls remain in the large valley below Toro Peak, and I was able to find pottery shards laying in the sand. Most of the rest of the trip was spent with friends in the Dos Cabezas area, doing a bit of rock climbing and scrambling, and successfully locating the famous Dos Cabezas “rider on a horse” pictograph near Piedras Grandes.
