Summits: 1380

2012: March 22-24 » San Ysidro, The Thimble, Carrizo Gorge, more

With my friend Josh Kinser, we spent 3 days in Anza Borrego. Day one consisted of a hike over several benchmarks and The Thimble to get to San Ysidro’s summit, with rare snowy conditions in San Diego, while day two consisted of successfully locating the elusive Carrizo Gorge pictographs. On day three, several other friends came out to join us as we mountain biked the Carrizo Gorge Railway and stopped off at the Blue Sun cave to see more of Anza Borrego’s pictographs. We also had bighorn sheep and rattlesnake sightings, to top off a very full and fun time in Anza… Trip report (hike only)
