After a few days rest at my grandparents house in Palm Desert (a welcomed break after the previous weeks), I was ready for more HPS peak mayhem…I hit Chaparossa Mountain (pics 1-5) on my way to meet April Goeble near Angeles Oaks, where we hiked Constance Mountain (pic 6) before crashing out near the Vivian Creek trailhead. Sunday, we hiked Yucaipa Ridge (pics 7-16), starting with a steep ascent up Little San Gorgonio Mountain, then traversing west over Wilshire Mountain, Wilshire Peak, Oak Glen, Cedar, Birch, and finishing on Allen Peak, before descending through the Bear Paw Reserve (permission granted ahead of time). It was quite an amazing day, with time to relax in the warm sun on some inviting rocks on a few of the summits.
April left to head back to work early Monday, and I slept in a bit, before convincing myself that I needed to hit a few more mountain tops before heading in for a visit to Mom. I started with Three Sisters (pic 18), then Wysup (pic 19), and finished on Heart Bar (pics 20-23) in light snow. Just barely squeezed that last one off before the real weather started coming in. So another 11 HPS peaks in 3 days (Oak Glenn was not HPS listed), life is good…
