While reading up on the Grand Canyon for my trip the previous week, I caught a short description of Buckskin Gulch in my national parks book, calling it one of the best hikes in the US and one of the longest slot canyons in the world. I couldn’t pass this up, and I sure wasn’t disappointed. I hiked most of the 13 mile slot, then back again, wading through 26 freezing cold pools of water and checking out some awesome petroglyphs along the way. The following day I hiked to and soaked in Ringbolt Hot Springs, set in a dramatic slot canyon near the Hoover Dam. What a fun and interesting two days…
