A hike of Mt Peale, a 12.7k’ summit, the high point of the La Sal Mountains which dominate the eastern skyline from anywhere near Moab.

Two bike rides in Canyonlands National Park – a 3-day ride on White Rim road in Island in the Sky, and a 2-day ride and hike into The Maze. I intended to spend 5 days here but I realized I had a hernia and came out early. I did manange to find The Harvest Panel, one of the most amazing pictrograph panels I’ve seen. Surgery pending…

Time spent in and around Capitol Reef National Park. I’ve been here once before, and I can’t emphasize enough how amazing and underrated this park is. I explored Cathedral Valley, hiked 1000 Lake Mountain west of Cathedral Valley, and did some poking around The Waterpocket Fold including some slot canyons. I hiked a few slots in Escalante National Monument on the way home…
