After my HPS list finish near Idyllwild, Phil Stinis and I shot up to the Sierra to check out the huge amounts of snow we’ve gotten this year. We started with a day hike of Mt Morgan (13720’), followed by a rest day (which included Wild Willy’s Hot Spring), and then backpacked up to the Horton Lakes. From Horton, we had hoped to climb Mt. Tom but brutal wind and piercing cold made it an easy decision to call off the attempt and relax instead.
