Delta and I took advantage of her time off of work over Thanksgiving and set out on a 3-day hiking/camping loop around SoCal. We started off in the Idyllwild area, hiking partway up a snowy Fuller Ridge before being enticed to an early evening around a warm campfire. Day 2 took us up Toro Mountain, where we hiked Toro Mountain’s west peak, then drove to within a few hundred feet of Toro’s main summit (all gates were open) to check out the infamous helicopter wreck and unrivaled views into Anza Borrego, Palm Desert, and the Salton Sea. Day 3 saw us up Pyramid Peak in Anza Borrego, and we were lucky enough to catch sight of 4 bighorn sheep en route (this is 2 out of 2 times seeing the sheep in the desert with Delta, I think she is good luck!).
