I spent this Friday/Saturday in Anza Borrego with Delta, showing her some of my favorite sites in the area. Friday, we mountain biked the Carrizo Gorge Railway, a sightseeing ride where something seems to pop up around every corner. We then set up camp in Indian Valley, enjoying the warm desert breeze that kicked up through the night. The following day we checked out the elusive Carrizo Gorge pictographs, where someone had laid out a pottery fragment and a few arrowheads (a few bighorn sheep kept watch to make sure we left everything intact). We then made our way up Mine Peak and took in views of the Carrizo Badlands before catching a blues band and wood fired pizza in Santa Ysabel on the way home. Ahhhh….
